Kumano Magaibutsu
The largest rock-carved Buddha in Japan, designated as a national important cultural property, is located at the top of stone stairs believed to have been built by demons overnight.
The figures of Dainichi Nyorai (approximately 6.7 meters) with a firm expression carved into the right cliff and Fudo Myoo (approximately 8 meters) with a smiling expression carved into the left cliff naturally blend into the surrounding landscape, which makes it very mystical.
